Last year, the Boston Red Sox and the city of Ft. Myers announced plans for the development of a spring training complex somewhere in Lee County.

The dreams are now becoming a reality as on Thursday afternoon, the Red Sox released architectural drawings of the facility.

Here’s what it’ll look like:

Proposed Boston Red Sox Spring Training Complex

Essentially, it will be a mini-Fenway Park in Florida. This will do wonders for any new players who join the organization. Plus it will allow the big league and minor league camps to be held in the same complex. Right now, the Red Sox minor league development complex is about two miles from City of Palms Park where they currently play their spring training games.

The Red Sox will begin play at the new complex in the spring of 2012. You can bet your bottom dollar that all the games will be sold-out as well as a lot more people attending practices to get a glimpse of the new facility.
