The Milwaukee Bucks today announced that former UCONN star Charlie Villanueva will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a torn ligament in his left elbow.

The injury happened in the second quarter of Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks when he was fouled hard by Josh Childress. The foul caused Villanueva to leave the game. A subsequent MRI showed the damage to his elbow.

Villanueva was averaging 14.6 pts and 7.4 rebounds a game in his first season with Milwaukee. Charlie spent his rookie season in Toronto and was traded during the offseason to the Bucks.
