Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon was just a little busy over the past weekend.
On Friday night, he pitched the 9th inning of the suspended game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He then spent Saturday in the hospital with his wife Ashley who ended up giving birth to their second child, Gunner Robert.
After spending time with Ashley and their two children on Sunday, Papelbon returned to the Red Sox on Monday. In the following video, Papelbon talks with NESN’s Jade McCarthy about the entire experience.
