The course of last night’s game changed on one call by Kerwin Danley, who called Coco Crisp safe on a bang-bang play. The next pitch Roy Halladay throws was taken out of the park by Jacoby Ellsbury. Ellsbury has been money since he came up and he is going to make things very interesting next year in spring training for the Red Sox. Josh Beckett pitched well to get his MLB leading 17th win (later tied that night by the Yanks Chien-Mien Wang). And after begging and pleading with Terry Francona, Jonathan Papelbon pitched for three days in a row for the first time since he got hurt last year. Considering he had only thrown 23 pitches in the past 2 games, the situation was a little different. Papelbon was perfect again in closing out the game. Curt Schilling takes the hill tonight for the Red Sox but before he does, let’s take a look at the headlines from the Boston area and Toronto media on this gorgeous morning along the shores of Connecticut.
