Theo Epstein Has Never Gone To Arbitration: Jonathan Papelbon and Javier Lopez of the Boston Red Sox filed for arbitration today. Kevin Youkilis also filed but will have his name removed once his new deal becomes finalized. Under Theo Epstein’s regime, the Red Sox have never gone to arbitration with any of it’s players. The Red Sox will have a week to work out contracts with the pair. If they don’t, they’ll exchange salary figures before meeting with the arbitrator if it gets that far. [redsox.com]
