It’s Military Appreciation Day at Rentschler Field this afternoon and before the UConn Huskies take on the Temple Owls at 4 p.m., there will be plenty of pregame festivities.
If you will be at the game today, close up your tailgate a little early and be in your seats by 3:30 p.m. as members of our Armed Services will be honored. During the national anthem, a field-sized American flag will be unfurled and “Miss Hap”, the oldest surviving B-25 in the United States dating back to World War II (pictured above), will be doing a flyover.
And be sure to stay in your seats at halftime as the UConn and Temple marching bands will perform a medley of anthems that honors the branches of the military.
