Here’s the release from UConn announcing the UConn Huskies women’s basketball home and away Big East Conference matchups for the 2012-2013:
STORRS, Conn. – The BIG EAST announced the home and away matchups for women’s basketball for the 2012-13 regular season as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. BIG EAST teams will once again play a 16-game regular-season schedule and each squad will play two teams twice. The Huskies are slated to face Marquette and defending regular season conference champions Notre Dame twice in the upcoming campaign.
The Huskies posted a 33-5 overall record and went 13-3 in league play. UConn fell twice to the Fighting Irish in the regular season before defeating Notre Dame in the BIG EAST Championship Final. Connecticut suffered its third loss of the season at the hands of Notre Dame when the Huskies fell in the national semi-final to the Irish.
In addition to playing Marquette and Notre Dame twice, UConn will play host to DePaul, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Syracuse and Villanova. The Huskies will play Cincinnati, Georgetown, Providence, Rutgers, St. John’s and USF on the road.
