Every game now is crucial for the Red Sox. Not only do they need to hold off the Yankees in the AL East, they are also in a battle with the Angels and Indians for the best record in the American League. This series in Tampa is the first step to the goal of making the playoffs and winning the AL East. Anything less than a sweep to me is not good enough. Am I asking too much? I might be but I just don’t want to see the Red Sox limp into the playoffs. Years past have shown the hotter team is usually the better team in the playoffs. I understand what Terry Francona is doing by setting up the rotation. I just don’t feel Daisuke Matsuzaka is our best option as the number 2 pitcher. I thought that should go to Curt Schilling. But that’s why I am a blogger and not a Major League manager. With that being said, let’s take a look at the headlines for the Boston media on this first day of fall in New England.
