When the Red Sox embarked on the long trip, they left Boston with a 8 ½ game lead over the Yankees. Now the lead sits at 9 ½ while the Yanks have fallen on hard times again and dropped to 11 out. So while the road trip (4-5) wasn’t a complete success, they still managed to put a litte more distance betwen themselves and their AL East foes. The Sox will now play 7 at home before heading out to the Motor City for a 3-game set before the All-Star break.
The Sox were off yesterday but that doesn’t mean the Boston and Dallas area media was sleeping. So let’s take a look at what they have to say.
