Last night, I had the good fortune of heading over to the Irish-American Community Center in East Haven, CT to purchase Mel Thomas’ book “Heart of a Husky” and have it personally autographed. It also gave me and hundreds of other UConn Huskies fans a chance to meet Mel.
From what I could tell, Mel is a very nice person. She was engaging with all of the fans and even stopped to take pictures with people. Unfortunately, the one with me didn’t come out too well. She did tell me I was pretty tall though (I’m 6’4, she’s 5’9″). I was able to chat with Mel briefly and congratulated her on the success of the book and wished her well in Ireland and towards her goal of playing in the WNBA.
The Irish-American Community Center is a very nice place but it was hard to get pictures. But what pictures I was able to get, I’ll share with you here. Hope you enjoy them.
