We are closing in on Red Sox Truck Day here in New England and the Boston Red Sox have issued a press release with all of the information. Also contained in the press release is availability of tickets for select spring training games as well as information for fans visiting spring training.
BOSTON, MA – The 2011 Spring Training Truck Day presented by JetBlue Airways is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8. The Red Sox equipment truck will depart Fenway Park for the 1,480-mile trip to the club’s Spring Training home in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday at approximately noon.
The equipment truck, which will depart from Fenway Park on Van Ness Street – adjacent to Gate D, will be led in procession by a flat-bed truck carrying Wally the Green Monster and Fenway Ambassadors who will be tossing soft Red Sox baseballs and JetBlue giveaways to fans.
All media outlets are welcome to cover the departure of the equipment truck and go live from Van Ness Street.
TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE FOR SELECT SPRING TRAINING GAMES: There are still great seats available for select Red Sox Spring Training games at City of Palms Park. The Red Sox will also continue the tradition of college matchups, facing the Boston College Eagles on Saturday, February 26 at 1:05 p.m. followed by the Northeastern Huskies at 6:00 p.m. in a half-price separate admission doubleheader.
Additionally, tickets for the recently added March 8 game against the Houston Astros at 1:05 p.m. at City of Palms Park in will go on sale beginning Friday, February 11 at noon. For this and all other Spring Training or regular season game tickets, fans can go online to www.redsox.com or call our 24-hour automated ticket line at 888-REDSOX6. Fans can also visit the Ticket Office at City of Palms Park to purchase Spring Training tickets in person, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginning the week of February 15, the Ticket Office will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
SPRING TRAINING WORKOUT INFORMATION FOR FANS: Shuttle buses between City of Palms Park and the Red Sox Player Development Complex will be available to fans beginning February 15, 2011. Fans who wish to take advantage of the shuttle service can come to City of Palms Park, park their vehicles for free and board shuttle buses in front of the Ticket Office on Broadway for a fee of just $1.00 each way ($2.00 roundtrip). There is no public parking at the Red Sox Player Development Complex. Free tours of City of Palms Park, originating from the Team Store, also begin on February 15 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
