If you are one of the lucky ones who will be in be in attendance on Opening Day at Fenway next Tuesday, you will witness a myriad of events. I am one of those lucky ones. This is what the Red Sox have planned for Opening Day.
The Red Sox will be honoring the “Impossible Dream” 1967 Boston Red Sox team. Over 20 members of that team will be introduced then they will each throw out a first pitch. Also, Harry Connick, Jr. will be performing ‘America the Beautiful’. The Green Mountain Boys of the 158th Fighter Wing from the Vermont Air National Guard will be performing a flyover over beautiful Fenway Park. And last but not least, Johnny Pesky will conclude the ceremonies by saying those famous two words before a baseball game, “Play Ball!”
Honestly, I am psyched for the game. Josh Beckett is scheduled to be on the hill, the 1967 team is getting honored, and I will be there to witness it all.
