The 2012 Golden Globe Nominations came out on Thursday morning for the awards ceremony that will be held on January 15, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA and broadcast on NBC.

HBO leads the way on the television side of things with 18 nominations lead by Mildred Pierce, which had four nominations and Boardwalk Empire which had three nominations. Showtime had eight nominations led by Homeland, which had three.

On the movie side of things, The Artist leads the way with six nominations followed by George Clooney’s The Descendants which along with The Help had five nominations. Clooney himself is up for three awards as best director and best screenplay for The Ides of March and best actor in The Descendants.
