Former Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell is making the most of his family vacation in Beantown this weekend. Last night, he stopped by the NESN pre-game set and then visited with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy during the game.
On Saturday night, he watched the game from the Legends Suite but not before throwing out the first pitch for the game.

Apparently during spring training, the Boston media forgot to tell us that former Boston Red Sox utility infielder Lou Merloni was trying to make a comeback for the 2011 season.

Here’s the raw footage of a brawl between the Spokane Indians (Texas Rangers) and the Vancouver Canadians (Toronto Blue Jays) of the Northwest League. What’s odd to me about this is the fact that it didn’t involve a player being hit with a pitch.
Now I’m sure at some point, we’ve been to a wedding where what happens in the commercial below. But I’d have to assume it wasn’t the bride but rather the groom.

While passing out gum during the 8th inning, you could see Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz setting his sights on something towards Tim Wakefield. It turned out that Papi had his sights on Wake’s ear which he ended up playfully kissing.

With everyone wanting to hear from Baltimore Orioles reliever Kevin Gregg and Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz after the fight on Friday night at Fenway Park, it turned out we would only hear from Gregg.
According to the media, Big Papi left the clubhouse immediately after the game without addressing reporters. Gregg did however talk about what happened.
While I thought Gregg made sense in the beginning, he turned into a whiny baby very quickly.

Update: Nick Markakis said it was “bush league” for Papi to swing at the 3-0 count.
It turned into Fight Night at Fenway Park on Friday night during the 8th inning just one pitch after the benches had emptied. The reason the benches emptied the first time is the fact that Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz took exception to Kevin Gregg throwing inside three straight times.
Nothing exciting happened during that little scrum and order was restored. Then on the 3-0 count, Big Papi popped the ball up to short center. As he was running down the line, slowly I might add, Gregg motioned and probably yelled to him to run to first. Obviously Papi took exception to this and went after Gregg just missing with an upper cut.
When all was said and done, Big Papi and Gregg were ejected. Also ejected after the fracas were Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Orioles reliever Jim Johnson. Or as Steve pointed out on Twitter, the infamous Salty Johnson ejections.

When NESN returned from commercial before the 3rd inning, they had their sights set on a two different couples. Not knowing they’re on camera, one of the guys grabs his girlfriend’s boob and then Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy just lose it.
