Hotties of the 2010 NCAA Women’s Tournament

Back by popular demand is our look at the Hotties of the 2010 NCAA Women’s Tournament.

After the NCAA Women’s Tournament Selection Show, I perused all the rosters of the teams invited and picked one player deemed worthy for this post.

Some may not agree with my selections and that’s okay. There are some repeat winners from last season.

2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Rankings (Mar. 15)

The final 2010 regular season NCAA Women’s Basketball polls are out and it should come as no surprise to anyone that the UConn Huskies are the No. 1 team in the land. The Huskies finished with a 33-0 record and have won a NCAA Women’s record 72 straight games.

Despite losing in the America East Conference Finals to the Vermont Catamounts, Jen Rizzotti’s Hartford Hawks remained in the top 25 of both polls.

2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Rankings (Mar. 2)

The NCAA Women’s Basketball polls are out and as no surprise to anyone, we find the UConn Huskies sitting on top yet again.

Joining the Huskies from the Big East in the top 10 are Notre Dame and West Virginia. Georgetown and St. John’s are also ranked in the top 25.

There’s one other team from the state of Connecticut and that is the University of Hartford Hawks led by former UConn star Jen Rizzotti.

2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Rankings (Feb. 23)

For the 40th consecutive week, the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team finds itself sitting atop the AP Poll and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. Sitting right behind them are the Stanford Cardinal, whose only loss  this season came against the Huskies.

The Hartford Hawks, coached by former UConn All-American Jen Rizzotti, have been ranked in the Coaches Top 25 for the past two weeks but now find themselves in the AP Top 25 as well at No. 24.

2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Rankings (Feb. 16)

The NCAA Women’s Basketball rankings are out and we find the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team still on top of both polls. Joining them from the state of Connecticut is the University of Hartford Hawks, who are ranked for the second straight week. The Hawks are No. 24 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
