2013 NCAA Women’s Basketball Rankings – Week 3 (Nov. 20)

AP & USA Today Coaches Polls

Nine out of ten times, when the No. 1 team loses, the No. 2 team usually advances to the top. That wasn't the case though with the NCAA women's basketball rankings that came out this week.

The Baylor Lady Bears, who were No. 1, were knocked off by the Stanford Cardinal. The UConn Huskies, who are No. 2, were thought to be the new No. 1 team.

Instead, the pollsters have decided that Stanford is the new No. 1 team. They are followed by UConn, Baylor, the Duke Blue Devils and Notre Dame Fighting Irish in both polls.

Joining UConn and Notre Dame from the Big East in the top 25 are the Louisville Cardinals (7/6) and St. John's Red Storm (18/16).

The Georgetown Hoyas, DePaul Blue Demons and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights represent the Big East among the others receiving votes in both polls. The Syracuse Orange are among the others receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
