F–K Da Eagles Girl Does Maxim Shoot (NSFW)

While the boys of KSK (Kissing Suzy Kolber) are focused on the story of Sarah Spain, I’d like to let you know about the girl who was seen on national tv during the Saints-Eagles game wearing a F–K Da Eagles T-shirt. SnarkySpot had earlier shown the video from the game and if you look below this is the video.

Schilling to Pitch in 2008

There’s a reason why I read other sports blogs because you usually can pick up something from a blog that you, the reader, may not read. As I first saw on The Red Sox Times, Curt Schilling announced on the morning show of Dennis & Callahan on WEEI in Boston that in fact he will not be retiring at the end of the 2007 season. He has already been in discussions with the Red Sox front office and said during the interview that he will be sitting down with the Sox front office to discuss an extension. He also stated that he wants to stay and pitch in Boston during the 2008 season.
I guess this means he won’t be running against Senator Kerry in 2008 for the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat that Kerry currently holds. He also stated that if the Red Sox weren’t to sign him for 2008, he would be open to pitching anywhere except for the Yankees. Note to Theo: Sign Curt for 2008. His presence will not only help you guys as a team but it will beneficial to have him around the young pitchers in the organization.
Schilling also stated in the interview that his Japanese lessons are going very well. He declined to say anything that he had learned to Dennis & Callahan because he wanted to first “embarrass” himself speaking Japanese to Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Rocketman Update

Roger Clemens still hasn’t decided if he wants to come back and pitch yet this season he announced on Sunday. This is what he had to say,
“I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. I’ll make that decision when it comes. I’m in good shape, but I’m nowhere near baseball shape. Mentally, it’s going to be another challenge for me.”
The reason Clemens returned to the Astros last season was because of the many calls that he received from his teammates on the Astros.
“If somebody makes a phone call, and I think I can do it again physically, I probably could. The only reason why I’d continued to play was because of my teammates calling me.”
Well we all know that Andy Pettitte and other former teammates from the Yankees will be calling him to try and get him to come back to pitch. So this is what I propose. Besides the obligatory phone calls from John Henry, Tom Werner, and Theo Epstein, members of Red Sox Nation should start calling Clemens to show him he is wanted in Boston. After all, aren’t we members of the team if we are a part a Red Sox Nation?

Happy Birthday To Me!!
On this day back in 1971 when the The Pirates traded OF Matty Alou and P George Brunet to the Cardinals for OF Vic Davalillo and P Nelson Briles, and when President Richard Nixon was sending a letter to people of the Virgin Islands, I was born to my parents, Ladd and Sue, in beautiful Schnectady, NY. For those who haven’t been to Schnectady, I may have embellished a little bit.
Possible Helton Trade Hits a Snag
The trade talks between the Rockies and the Red Sox have a hit a little snag right now. The Red Sox have offered up Mike Lowell and Julian Tavarez to the Rockies in exchange for Todd Helton and cash. Right now, the Rockies also want one of the Red Sox younger prospects from the group Jacob Ellsbury, Craig Hansen, Manny Delcarmen, Clay Buchholz, Daniel Bard and Jon Lester.
I am pretty sure that Daniel Bard can’t be traded since he was just drafted and signed last year. However that being said, I still think the Red Sox should part with ONE of them, but preferably not one of the starting pitching prospects. Currently, the Red Sox have 6 arms competing for 5 spots. The reason why I don’t think the Sox should trade a starter is because Wakefield and Schilling are approaching the end of their careers and will probably need to be replaced for the 2008 season.
Of course then again, trading anyone that is a bullpen prospect could be detriemental too because right now our bullpen isn’t exactly one of the best right now. I also wouldn’t trade Ellsbury either. So who would I trade. Honestly, I don’t know. If it came down to it, I would probably trade Delcarmen. Hansen is the “future closer” of the Red Sox, and they have Bryce Cox who could step up into Delcarmen’s role.
Money wise this deal could make sense for the Red Sox especially if the Rockies are going to pay half of what Helton is owed. A Gold Glove first baseman for around $10 million a year. Why not? Lowell is a free agent after the season and Tavarez is too. However, Tavarez has an option for 2008 based on how many appearances he makes in 2007.
The Red Sox are usually quiet in the media when it comes to trades or anything that has to do with the front office. So it will be interesting too see what transpires over the next few days. Helton has publicly said that he would like the trade to get done quickly. And as pointed out the other day, Rockies GM Dan O’Dowd is away til Tuesday tending to a family matter.
I wonder if I should call the Director of Player Development from the Rockies, Marc Gustafson, to see if I can get any scoop. He always told me if I ever needed anything to give him a call.

Shaq: NBA All-Star & Police Officer
Shaquille O’Neal, who is a sworn reserve Police Officer in Miami Beach, had to put his policing skills to use early on Sunday morning. It seems that he was a witness to a hit-and-run accident on his way home after the Miami Heat returned home from Chicago. The hit-and-run involved his Cadillac Escalade. The driver of the car hit O’Neal’s parked car while him and his bodyguard were unloading the Escalade.
The driver of the car fled the scene so O’Neal and his bodyguard pursued the vehicle for about 5 minutes before they finally stopped. O’Neal flagged down an officer and told them what happened. The driver and his friend nearly shit a brick when they saw O’Neal was the one they had hit.
Can you imagine if O’Neal had to do a foot pursuit? Would he be able to even run? He’s barely playing 15 minutes a game after coming off a knee injury. Maybe Shaq can keep Tank Johnson out of trouble while Tank is in Miami for the Super Bowl.

Papelbon Poll Results
Well the readers have spoken and y’all have decided that Jonathan Papelbon shouldn’t be the closer for the Red Sox this season. I have to say I disagree with the poll results though. He is simply our best option going into the season. I know the Sox staff is worried about his shoulder breaking down again but I am sure there is a throwing program that can help him. If anyone knows of one, send it along to the Red Sox medical staff.
