Video: Red Sox, Indians Clear The Benches

Cleveland Indians' Shelley Duncan, right, has words with Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Josh Beckett, left, who grabs his jersey in the eighth inning of a baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010. Both benches cleared with pushing and shoving after Jensen Lewis threw a pitch behind Adrian Beltre. Lewis, Beckett and Indians third-base coach Steve Smith were ejected from the game. During the bottom of the 8th inning of Tuesday night’s game, Cleveland Indians pitcher Jensen Lewis threw behind Boston Red Sox third baseman Adrian Beltre and of course Beltre didn’t take kindly to it.

He was stopped by Indians catcher Lou Marson and home plate umpire Tim Welke before anything serious could happen. But the benches cleared anyways and we have a few verbal discussions, mainly between Josh Beckett and Shelley Duncan, and some shoving.

But after it was cleared up, Red Sox skipper Terry Francona was going at it with Indians third base coach Steve Smith and the players headed back out. I wonder if Tito told Smith sucked on “The Amazing Race“.

Why on earth would you throw at Beltre? This is the same guy that will beat his teammates up for rubbing his head. After all was said and done, Lewis, Smith and Beckett were all ejected from the game.

Video: Papi’s Walk-Off Double Wins It For Red Sox

Last night, David Ortiz hit a grand slam to get the Boston Red Sox back to within a run in the bottom of the 9th in their eventual 6-5 loss to the Detrot Tigers. Today, Big Papi came to bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th and the Red Sox trailing 4-2.

Tigers skipper Jim Leyland decided to intentionally walk Kevin Youkilis to get to Ortiz who had been 0-for-8 against Phil Coke. Well we can now make it 1-for-9 with a double and three RBIs for Big Papi against Coke as his double cleared the bases to give the Red Sox a 5-4 win.

Video: Ryan Kalish’s First MLB Hit

While it wasn’t as grand as his former Pawtucket Red Sox teammate Daniel Nava, Ryan Kalish did lace a single in his first MLB at-bat for the Boston Red Sox.

But what’s funny about is when they were throwing the ball into the dugout for Kalish, first baseman Kevin Youkilis wanted the ballboy to throw it into the stands (about 1/2 way through video and also at the end in case you miss it the first time).

Early Monday morning, I posted a commercial of Boston Red Sox skipper Terry Francona trying on wigs with pitching coach John Farrell. Now we have a new version of the same ad.

Video: RemDawg Not A Fan of Kiss Cam

I wasn’t around to post this until tonight but apparently NESN color analyst Jerry Remy isn’t a fan of the Kiss Cam.

During Tuesday night’s Boston Red Sox vs Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim game, the RemDawg and Don Orsillo were featured on the Angels Stadium Kiss Cam. DO leaned over to kiss the RemDawg but he wanted no part of it.

NESN’s Kathryn Tappen is down in Ft. Myers and sat down with injured Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury to talk about the rehab process among other things.

Video: How Unlucky Is J.D. Drew?

With the Boston Red Sox clinging to a one-run lead over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last night, J.D. Drew came to the plate with two runners on base. He ended up getting a good pitch to hit and he got all of it.

Unfortunately for him though, he needed to hit it about an inch further to get a home run as the ball went off the top of the wall for a two-run double.
