It’s been a long time since we’ve heard or seen the Boston Red Sox bullpen band. But could it be making a comeback?
Red Sox reliever Daniel Bard seems to be leading the charge and already has Rich Hill joining him.
Now will others follow? Only time will tell.

David Ortiz started the first game of the doubleheader on Sunday afternoon on the Boston Red Sox bench. But with Jose Valverde on the mound for the Detroit Tigers in the 9th inning, skipper Terry Francona decided to pinch-hit with Big Papi.
After all, in his only appearance against Valverde, Big Papi had a grand slam. Well now you can make it two home runs as it was his solo shot plus a perfect bottom of the 9th from Jonathan Papelbon gave the Red Sox a 4-3 win.
Apparently all that time in the NESN booth calling Boston Red Sox games for Don Orsillo with Dennis Eckersley while Jerry Remy was away from the booth has paid off for Orsillo.
Listen to Orsillo go through all of the “Eck-isms” when describing Eckersley’s first pitch to Carlton Fisk on Friday night. Mind you, this did come after Orsillo and Remy spent a good five minutes talking about Remy’s dyed hair and toupées.

For those of you who follow the Boston Red Sox on NESN with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy, you know that when the game isn’t interesting anymore, they kind of go off in a different direction.
With the score 10-5 in the seventh inning in Friday night’s game, the pair did just that as they talked about Remy’s dye job on his hair and toupées.
This one may rank up there as one of their all-time greatest convos ever.

Forget the fact the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago Cubs 15-5 on Friday night as WBZ’s Jon Miller comes up with the question of the year for Sox skipper Terry Francona.
For the third time this month, Boston Red Sox left fielder Carl Crawford had yet another walkoff hit. He had one on May 1st and the second came on May 9th.
Crawford’s single with the bases loaded in the 9th brought home pinch-runner Darnell McDonald for the winning run and a two-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park on Thursday night.

The first one featured Kevin Youkilis while the second one was a team one. The third one featured Daniel Bard while the last one featured David Ortiz.
Four years ago, there was the “Mother’s Day Miracle” when the Boston Red Sox completed an epic comeback win over the Baltimore Orioles. And on Monday night as NESN’s Tom Caron put it so eloquently, there was the “Remy Returns Miracle” thanks to the two-run walkoff hit for Adrian Gonzalez against those same Orioles.
In a scene reminiscent of the 2004 brawl between Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek and New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, the Single-A South Atlantic League affiliates of the teams got into a brawl on Friday night.
Apparently there had been some bad blood from earlier games between the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) and Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees). So when Drive pitcher Miguel Celestino hit Slade Heathcott on the second pitch of the game last night, Heathcott took exception and went after Drive catcher Christian Vazquez.
The benches cleared and after the ensuing battle royale (seen below), Heathcott and Vazquez were ejected along Charleston reliever Kelvin Perez and Drive reliever Garrett Rau.
When the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees met up for the first time this season, New Era caps released a commercial with Alec Baldwin and John Krasinski. If you didn’t know this, Baldwin is a Yankees fan while Krasinski is a Red Sox fan.
Now with the Red Sox and Yankees getting set for another three-game set, New Era has released another commercial with the pair.
