Video: Pedroia & Aceves Get Into an Argument in the Dugout

It was an eventful 4th inning for Boston Red Sox reliever Alfredo Aceves on Saturday night against the Oakland A’s.

Let’s see, he first dropped a pop up in foul territory that he had no business being a part of. Then he got into a shouting match with the home plate umpire after he picked up a foul ball and walked back to the mound with it.

Then after the inning was after, he exchanged some words with second baseman Dustin Pedroia, most likely about the pickoff throws to second during the inning. They were separated by the coaches and then after a pat on his ass by skipper Bobby Valentine, Aceves had some words for him too.

Video: Mauro Gomez Hits First Career MLB Home Run

Mauro Gomez has been called up three different times to the Boston Red Sox this year. In his first two stints, he hadn’t hit a home run.

Well now in his third cup of coffee with the local nine, Gomez can now say that he has hit a home run in the big leagues as he hit a solo homer off Kansas City Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie in the 2nd inning of Saturday night’s game.

Video: Red Sox Pay Tribute To Johnny Pesky

When “Mr. Red Sox” Johnny Pesky passed away last week, the Boston Red Sox were on the road so they couldn’t pay tribute to him. So before opening up the homestand against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Red Sox and the Fenway Faithful paid tribute to Pesky.

Here’s the full ceremony for you to enjoy:

Video: What’s In Don Orsillo’s Man Bag?

Over the past week or so, we’ve heard NESN Boston Red Sox analyst Jerry Remy talk about all the stuff that’s in Don Orsillo’s man bag. They had been waiting for a blowout in a game to talk about what DO carries in that bag.

Well they got their blowout on Sunday afternoon as the Red Sox were enjoying a 14-1 lead in the 5th inning which also turned out to be the final result of the game. So while Jon Lester was mowing down hitters, Red Sox Nation was learning what DO had in his bag.

Video: Will Middlebrooks Makes a Great Diving Catch

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. Nope, it’s just Boston Red Sox rookie third baseman Will Middlebrooks flying through the air to make a great diving catch off the bat of Minnesota Twins shortstop Brian Dozier‘s bunt attempt in the 10th inning last night.

Video: Mike Aviles on Intentional Talk

Before yesterday’s game against the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox shortstop Mike Aviles talked with MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger and former Sox first baseman Kevin Millar.

In the interview, the trio talked about Aviles’ calves and his signing bonus amongst other things. The interview is well worth watch just to see Kevin Youkilis imitate Aviles’ batting stance and the Aviles doing the same of Youk’s.

Video: Tek Stops By The NESN Booth

Before Saturday night’s loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, former Boston Red Sox captain Jason Varitek was honored by the team for his years of service to the team. Then as is the custom, Tek stopped by the NESN booth to chat with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy and he ended up staying up there for an entire inning.

Video: Thanks Tek Day

As we all know, Jason Varitek announced his retirement from the Boston Red Sox during spring training this year just after Tim Wakefield did the same. And like the Red Sox did earlier this season when they held a day for Wake, they did the same with Tek.

Video: Jerry Remy Is No John Lennon

It’s abundantly clear after watching the video below that NESN’s Boston Red Sox color analyst Jerry Remy is no John Lennon at all.

Listen to Remy do his best “singing” of “Help” by the Beattles:
