This is somewhat a response to Tim over at The Red Sox Times. It is not a dig at him nor is it anything spiteful.
In Tim’s blog, he wrote this.
According to Technorati’s blog post mentions ranks, Hazel is the hottest of the bunch.
Hazel Mae – 1,361 blog post mentions
Erin Andrews – 1,252
Amalie Benjamin – 150
Tina Cervasio – 120
I want to bring you some different numbers. This is how many views the Amalie’s Army page got from 8 pm last night to to 8 pm tonight. The reason why I went 8 to 8 is that is how the stats work. They are complied on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Right now the eastern time zone is -4 GMT. Also I have included how many times her name was used in searches. Because it’s a holiday weekend, I didn’t expect much traffic to the site. However, a rain delay in Texas last night coupled with Amalie being on TV a few times in those 2 hours brought a good part of those hits.

I know in my contact with her through emails, she has been nothing but nice to me and answered my questions as has any of the Globe reporters I have emailed. They are a class organization to me.
I hope she doesn’t dislike me for making the page.

If you’re 11 years old, during your summer vacation you’re probably hanging out with your friends, playing some baseball or playing video games. Just your normal everyday 11 year old stuff.
Well if your Jamison Stone, you went hunting with your father in Eastern Alabama and came back with about 700 lbs of sausage. You see, Jamison shot a 1,050lb wild boar. He shot it 8 times with a pistol and then they followed it for three hours before he fired the fatal shot.

“It feels really good,” Jamison, of Pickensville, said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “It’s a good accomplishment. I probably won’t ever kill anything else that big.”
“I was a little bit scared, a little bit excited,”
I feel bad for the other kids at his school when they talk about what they did last summer and he’s talking about bagging a 1,050 lb wild boar.

Shame on me for not posting an update last month when the cases went to court. So let me update as to what happened in court in April and then share an email exchange I had with a writer from the Hartford Courant on Friday.
Back on April 26th, Kara Satalin, Anthony Alvino and Michelle Hall were in court on their charges stemming from the death of Carlee Wines when the vehicle Alvino was driving struck Wines. She died from the injuries she suffered in the accident on January 20th.
Hall was in the passenger’s seat when Alvino struck Wines and she convinced Alvino to leave the scene of the crime.
Satalin was charged with providing Alvino and Hall alcohol. She allegedly used a fake ID to purchase the alcohol. Alvino was charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle resulting in death, evading responsibility and tampering with physical evidence. Hall was faces charges of aiding and abetting evading responsibility, conspiracy to commit evading responsibility, and third-degree hindering prosecution.
Two others were charged with providing Alvino and Hall alcohol at a party on the UCONN campus the night of the incident. Ken Rusterholz and Matt Gallo face charges of providing alcohol to minors.
In court, Satalin applied for accelerated rehabilitation and a hearing was scheduled on the application for May 25th.
Accelerated rehabilitation is available to people accused of non-violent crimes who do not have criminal records and who a Superior Court judge finds are not likely to commit another crime.
Alvino’s case was also continued to May 25th and Hall’s case was continued to June 8th.
On Friday afternoon, I was looking online for an update to what had happened in court. I didn’t see anything at all so I decided to email a writer from the Hartford Courant, David Owens. Much to my surprise, he got back to me fairly quick and told me the following.
David Owens: The cases against Satalin and Alvino were continued to a later date. Satalin’s hearing will probably go forward next month. I expect Gallo and Rusterholz to seek accelerated rehabilitation as well.
As for Hall and Alvino, it will probably be a while.
A very special thanks to David Owens for answering my questions and providing an update.

or is it the Anaheim media or the Los Angeles of Anaheim media.
Ervin Santana blew up yesterday at reporters after he was shellacked in his latest road start. He didn’t like it when a reporter asked him what he expects if he get’s demoted to Triple-A Salt Lake City.
“No,” he snapped. “What kind of question is that?”
Santana hasn’t been exactly good on the road this season or for that matter in his career. When the LAAofA are on the road this season, Santana is 0-5 in 6 starts and sports a 9.30 road ERA. On the contrary, when he plays at his own ballpark, he is 3-1 in 4 starts and has a 2.33 home ERA.
Manager Mike Scioscia said the Angels’ goal remains “to fix him.” Scioscia did not directly answer the question of whether that might be better accomplished in triple A, but he indicated Santana would not have all summer to work through his struggles.
“This isn’t going to be an instructional league for Ervin,” he said.
Santana’s next two starts are scheduled at home, and the Angels could take advantage of off days to limit him to one road start in the next 30 days. Scioscia said it would not be practical to constantly juggle the rotation so Santana would not start on the road.
“That’s dysfunctional,” Scioscia said. “You’re going to pitch him once every three weeks? You guys are making this a home-road issue.”
Scioscia agreed that Santana’s home and road stats are “like night and day” but argued the issue is consistency, in locating pitches and getting ahead of hitters.
It’s probably not a good idea to piss off the media in your home market because more than likely one of them will probably find fault with anything you do (CHB).

It is looking Roger Clemens will probably make one more start in the minors on Monday night in Scranton before returning to the Evil Empire for a possible matchup with Curt Schilling on June 3rd at Fenway Park.
Several Yankees officials, all who remain anonymous, think it would be best for Clemens to get one more start under his belt in the minors due to his struggles on Wednesday night. He went 5 1/3 innings in his latest outing, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. He also uncorked a wild pitch and hit a Portland SeaDog’s batter. He also threw 102 pitches in this outing compared to 58 in the first.
Personally, I know the Yanks need him right now but there’s a reason why spring training is 6 weeks long and why most most pitcher’s have 4 or 5 starts. Roger is trying to accomplish all that in 2 starts is absurd. I am sure he was working out before this but then again most pitchers are working out before spring training. It’s not like Roger is 25 anymore. I think for his health, he’d be better served making one more start in the minors.
With the way the rotation sits for the Red Sox, Curt Schilling, as I mentioned above, looks to be on the hill June 3rd. Interestingly enough, that is an ESPN Sunday Night Game of the Week. I am sure the execs at the Worldwide Leader are frothing at the mouths for this matchup.
Update: Roger will in fact make one more start in the minors on Monday night. He will then rejoin the Yankees on June 2 or 3 at Fenway.

Dean Hancock, father of the late Josh Hancock, has decided to file a lawsuit against Mike Shannon’s, a popular club where Josh had been on the night before his eventual death.
Mr. Hancock is suing the restaurant because they failed to stop serving drinks to Josh. Mr. Hancock is also suing Shannon’s daughter, who is the restaurant’s manager. He also named the tow truck company, the tow truck driver, and the driver of the broken down car.
Josh was found to be drunk at the time of his death. Hence the lawsuit.
I can understand suing the restaurant but why is he suing the tow truck company, tow truck driver and the driver of the car. If anything, I can see a counter-suit happening by those parties.
Hat tip to my buddy Shelto for the tip.

I got an email from someone who had my blog pop up in his Google Alerts. This was due to the Jerry Remy air guitar video. He wanted to let me know that the US Air Guitar Championships are coming up and there are some regionals.
The one for Boston is on June 8th. It got me to thinking that maybe Remy should enter the contest after his performance on the NESN airwaves. Unfortunately though, Remy won’t be able to attend because the Red Sox will be out West that day as the Sox will be playing the Arizona Diamondbacks.
