The AP Preseason Women’s Basketball Poll came out on Thursday and for the 10th time in program history, the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team is ranked No. 1. It’s the second consecutive year and third time in the last five years they’ve earned the top preseason spot.
They are joined by the South Carolina Gamecocks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies in the top five.
There are no other teams from the American Athletic Conference ranked in the top 25. The South Florida Bulls are among the others receiving votes.
