With the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team picking up it’s 70th straight win and Maya Moore scoring the 2,000th point of her career, one would think that was the story of the game on Sunday.
Well those are just two parts of the story but the real story is the domination of the Syracuse Orange by Big East Player of the Year Tina Charles.
Three Huskies Named To 2010 All-Big East Teams
The men’s version of the 2009-10 Big East All-Conference teams were announced on Sunday and we find three members of the UConn Huskies on the teams.
Both sophomore point guard Kemba Walker and senior shooting guard Jerome Dyson were named to the All-Big East Third Team while freshman center Alex Oriakhi was named to the All-Big East Rookie Team.
The conference will announce Player of the Year, Oppenheimer Funds/Big East Coach of the Year, Big East Rookie of the Year and Big East Scholar-Athlete on Tuesday, March 9 between the afternoon and evening sessions of games.

Huskies Fall In Regular Season Finale To USF
The leading bracketologists out there said after the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish that the Huskies were still in the field of 65. But after Saturday’s performance at the Sun Dome in Tampa, FL, it’s looking more like the NIT for the Huskies unless they win the Big East Tournament.
The South Florida Bulls held off a late rally by the Huskies as they went on to a 75-68 win in front of a sold-out crowd in USF’s Senior Day game.

Late Morning Red Sox Delight – 3/6
Spring is in the air here in Connecticut as the temperatures reach into the 50’s today and spring training games are alive and well in Florida for the Boston Red Sox.
Today, the Red Sox will play two games as they send a split-squad to Port Charlotte to take on the Tampa Bay Rays. The other split-squad will stay at City of Palms Park to take on the Minnesota Twins in Game 3 of the Mayor’s Cup. The series currently stands at 1-1.
