Why Women Hate Sports

Well its a slow sports day around these parts as all the UCONN Huskies teams are on final exams break and the Red Sox have nothing new to report. So I decided to go thru Youtube looking for some funny videos for now and future use. So enjoy.

Pearl Harbor Day

Pearl Harbor - USS Arizona Memorial

Please take a moment of your day today to remember the people who gave their lives on this day back in 1941 defending our country.

If you ever go to Hawaii, I highly advise going over to Pearl Harbor and doing the tour. It will leave you speechless.

Saddam Hussein Found Guilty

The Iraqi High Tribunal found Saddam Hussein guilty today for the war crimes he committed in 1982. He was sentenced to death by hanging for his role. His half-brother, Barzan Ibrahim, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, were also sentenced to death by hanging for crimes against humanity.

Saddam had previously stated he would rather die by gunfire so this was probably not a shock to him at all. With this verdict, there is expectation of widespread violence from the pro-Saddam supporters.

I know I normally don’t do posts about world news but i felt this one had to be done because Saddam is one of the reasons why our troops are overseas. Now if we could only find that cocksucker, Bin Laden. How hard is it to find the guy on dialysis hiding in the mountains?

Sad Day for the Lady Chargers Soccer Team

In a game that just finished up down in West Chester, PA, the University of New Haven Chargers lost 3-1 to Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

IUP got on the board first with 4 minutes left in the first half on a goal from Brittany Pikur. The Lady Chargers tied the game up with about 33 minutes left in the 2nd half on a goal from Selina Moylan. Just moments later, Shana Speese scored for IUP to take back the lead at 2-1. Sarah Romasco scored with about 15 minutes to go in the game to ice it for IUP.

This marked the last game for six Lady Chargers, Desi Guenther, Crystal Lindsay, Maureen MacConnell, Jennie Bergeron, Allie Shiner and Eileen O’Brien. These six have helped build the Lady Chargers into a perennial contender for years to come including leading them to their first ever NCAA berth last season. Next year will be the time for this years JR’s, Sophomore’s, and Freshman and the incoming freshman to get the Lady Chargers back to the NCAA’s.

Note: If you would like a recap on the season go over to this site for Desi Guenther’s blog on Double-A Zone or to see all of her posts go here.
