Apparently they were filming a revival of the Bad New Bears franchise at Fenway Park last night.

How else could you explain the fact that the Boston Red Sox made an uncharacteristic five errors in a 14-5 loss to the New York Yankees. Of course all the blame doesn’t go to those errors.

It doesn’t help when your starting pitcher sucks a$.

Felix Doubront lasted just 2.2 innings, the second that’s happened this year. He gave up seven runs (three earned) on six hits, two walks and four errors. One of those errors was his own and he also allowed a run to score when he uncorked a wild pitch.

Things were so bad for an overworked bullpen that 1B/OF Mike Carp had to come in and work the 9th. He didn’t allow a hit but he did walk five batters with one of them scoring.

Xander Bogaerts paced the Red Sox with two hits and had an RBI. Jonny Gomes added a hit and two RBI (one on a sac fly) while David Ortiz added an RBI on a sac fly as well.
