Boston Herald, NY Post and NY Daily News sports covers for Monday, April 14, 2014

Instant replay has seen its share of good and bad over the past few weeks of the 2014 season.

The Boston Red Sox saw it go against them on Saturday earning an apology from MLB. And on Sunday night, an overturned call cost them their manager and the game.

Francisco Cervelli‘s fielder’s choice RBI in the 4th inning turned out to be the difference as the New York Yankees beat the Red Sox 3-2.

Cervelli had initially been called out on a bang-bang play at first base but Joe Girardi challenged the call. After replay, the call was overturned allowing the run to be scored.

Jonathan Herrera, who was filling in for an injured Dustin Pedroia, knocked in the first run for the Red Sox with a single. Mike Napoli had other RBI with a solo home run. Grady Sizemore along with Napoli had two hits each to lead the Red Sox.

Felix Doubront started this one and while not at his best still managed to pitch into the 7th inning and keep his team in the game.
