John Lackey #41 of the Boston Red Sox waits to be removed in the sixth inning against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park on April 18, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Boston Red Sox returned home from their road trip and began a seven-game homestand on Friday night. It did not start off the way they hoped.

John Lackey took the loss in this one as the O’s roughed him up for six runs on 10 hits and four walks in 5.1 innings of work. He did strike out six though.

All nine starters for the Red Sox had a least one hit. Mike Carp and newly recalled Brock Holt each two hits with Holt adding an RBI. Dustin Pedroia, A.J. Pierzynski and Xander Bogaerts had the other RBIs for the home team.
