After signing seven players to one-year deals on Friday, the Boston Red Sox had only one player to avoid going to salary arbitration with. And that was reliever Craig Breslow.
Well it didn't take long to get Breslow wrapped up as well.
According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, the Red Sox and Breslow have agreed to a two-year deal worth $6.25 million with an option for a third year that could take it to $10.15 million.
When this deal becomes official, it will continue a streak of avoiding salary arbitration with players started by former GM and now Chicago Cubs Executive VP Theo Epstein of the Red Sox and now continued by Sox GM Ben Cherington.
The last time they went to arbitration was in 2002 was with pitcher Rolando Arrojo.
