Devin McCourty - AP PhotoAfter making two trades in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft on Thursday night, the New England Patriots finally made a choice and took cornerback Devin McCourty out of Rutgers.

The Patriots orginally had the 22nd pick but traded it to Denver for the 24th pick in the first round and a 4th round pick (113th overall). When it came time to pick at No. 24, the Patriots traded that pick and a 4th round pick (119th overall) to the Dallas Cowboys for the 27th pick in the first round and a 3rd round pick (90th overall).

The Broncos used the original Patriots pick to draft wide receiver Demaryius Thomas out of Georgia Tech while the Cowboys used the 24th pick to take wide receiver Dez Bryant out of Oklahoma State.

The Patriots will have four picks on the second night of the draft that begins at 6:00 p.m.

They’ll have the 11th pick in the 2nd round (44th overall), the 14th pick (47th overall) and the 21st pick (53rd overall). They’ll also have the 26th pick in the 3rd round (90th overall).
