With the status of LB Pierre Woods unknown after suffering a mouth injury in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers, the New England Patriots have re-signed Rosevelt Colvin to a 1-year contract.
Colvin played for the Patriots from 2003-2007 and was cut by the Houston Texans during training camp this year. He will wear No. 95 since his old number 59 is being worn by Gary Guyton.
This is a good signing for the Patriots in that it gives them someone familiar with their defensive schemes and gives them additional depth at outside linebacker with Adalius Thomas and now Woods out.
The Patriots also announced that they have signed rookie LB Angelo Craig to the practice squad.
