The NFL has released the 2010 schedules for all of the teams and we find our New England Patriots opening up their season at home against Chad Ochocinco and the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Patriots schedule features two games on Monday Night Fooball on ESPN on the road against the Miami Dolphins (10/4) and at home against the New York Jets (12/6). They also have two games on Sunday Night Football in NBC on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers (11/14) and at home against the Green Bay Packers (12/19).
There is the possibility that the Sunday night game against the Packers could be flexed out of primetime.
The Patriots will also make their fourth appearance on Thanksgiving Day (11/25) as they’ll take on the Detroit Lions. They lost the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 in 1984, 34-9 against the Lions in 2000 and they beat the Lions 20-12 in 2002.
One other wrinkle to the 2010 schedule is the fact that all games in the NFL will be Divisional games. The Patriots will host the Dolphins in the season finale at Gillette Stadium.
