We Are Back

I owe the readers of the site a big apology. Normally when I’m going to take off time from the site, I’ll let you know ahead of time. This time I didn’t.

I started out with no plans but something last minute came up and I was unable to get anything written to let everyone know. For that I apologize.

I’ve got lot to catch up on with the Red Sox and the UConn Huskies especially giving my thought on the allegations brought against the men’s basketball team. I will do my best to get caught up here and get us back on track.

Thank you very much for your support of the blog and I look forward to putting out the best content I can on a daily basis.

Afternoon Red Sox Delight – 5/28

Kyle Davies (L), Tim Wakefield (R) - AP Photos

After an awful start from Daisuke Matsuzaka last night, the Boston Red Sox look to return to their winning ways in the second game of a four-game set at Fenway Park tonight.

Tonight’s game will start at 7:10 p.m. and will be shown on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Royals television market, you can catch the game on FOX Sports Kansas City. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2010 Red Sox radio network.

Tim Wakefield could be making his final start before the return of Josh Beckett to the rotation. Wake threw eight shutout innings his last time out to pick up his first win of 2010. In ten appearances (six starts) Wake is 1-2 with a 4.44 ERA. He’s made one start against the Royals in 2010 and picked up a no decision after allowing two runs in seven innings back on April 9th. In 27 career games (20 starts), Wake is 11-6 with a 3.84 ERA and one save.

Kyle Davies makes his tenth start of 2010 for the Royals and is 3-3 with a 4.53 ERA. Davies also got a no decision in the game on April 9th after allowing three runs in six innings. In two career starts, Davies is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA. His lone win came against the Red Sox in MLB debut back in 2005.

Breaking News: Jacoby Ellsbury Heading Back To DL

Boston Red Sox Breaking News

It looks as though Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury will need a little more time to recover from his injuries suffered in the collision with Adrian Beltre.

After feeling a little soreness a couple of days ago, Ellsbury underwent some more tests and it was determined that another stint on the disabled list should allow him to recover as the Red Sox placed him back on the DL this afternoon. The move is retroactive to May 25th.

Scott Atchison was recalled from Pawtucket and will take Ellsbury’s spot on the 25-man roster.
