After Scott Smith took their first fight, it was Cung Le’s turn to even the score. And even the score he did as he beat Smith by a TKO due to strikes at 1:46 of the second round during the Strikeforce event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose on Saturday night.

During the Strkeforce event at HP Pavilion in San Jose on Saturday night, MMA legend Frank Shamrock announced his retirement from the sport. He will continue on as a full-time analyst for Strikeforce events on Showtime.

During the Strikeforce event at HP Pavilion in San Jose on Saturday night, Cris Cyborg beat Jan Finney by TKO via strikes at 2:56 of the second round. Cyborg retains her Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight championship belt.

Evening Red Sox Delight – 6/26 [SOX & Dawgs]
After losing last night’s game and Dustin Pedroia to the disabled list with a fractured foot, the Boston Red Sox will look to get back in the win column in game two of a three-game set against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.
Tonight’s game will start at 7:10 p.m. and will be shown regionally on FOX. If you live in Connecticut like me, you’re screwed and can’t watch the game.. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2010 Red Sox radio network.
Clay Buchholz will look to bolster his All-Star credentials in his 15th start of the season. In his previous 14 starts, he is 10-4 with a 2.47 ERA. He’s never faced the Giants in his career.
The Giants number 2 prospect, lefty Madison Bumgarner, will make just his second career MLB start and fifth appearance. He made 14 starts with the Triple-A Fresno and was 7-1 with a 3.16 ERA. He’s never faced the Red Sox in his career.

The disabled list for the Boston Red Sox added another player on Saturday afternoon as second baseman Dustin Pedroia was placed on it with a non-displaced fracture of the navicular mid-foot bone in his left foot. Pedroia had fouled a ball off of his foot in the third inning of last night’s 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants and had to leave the game.
Pedroia has been replaced on the 25 man roster by Angel Sanchez. There is no timetable on Pedroia’s return to the lineup.
According to Pete Abraham, Bill Hall will play second base for now.
