Florida Wins National Title

Forget what everyone has said about Florida not deserving to be in the BCS Championship game. They came, they conquered, and they proved to all the naysayers that they deserved to be there.
OSU fans left early in the 4th quarter when Florida took the lead 41-14. If they were UCONN fans, they would have been gone by halftime.

I think after this I am getting out of the predicting sports business. I wasn’t good with my baseball predictions and as you can see I am not faring well here at all. Oh well. Looks like the winner will definitely be doing a guest post.

While perusing Youtube for some videos, I came across this one. If you remember, last week I had posted Justin Timberlake’s new song for everyone to see. Well this is a video response to that song.

RIP Bobby Hamilton, Sr

Longtime NASCAR driver, Bobby Hamilton Sr, died at the age of 49 from cancer. Hamilton had won the 2004 Craftsman Truck Series. He made 371 starts overall and raced in the Winston/Nextel Cup from 1989 til 2005. He also raced in the Truck Series starting in 2003 as an owner/driver. My condolences go out to the Hamilton family.

Saban Jr.
Just months after saying he was committed to the Louisville Cardinals football program, ESPN is reporting that Head Coach Bobby Petrino is leaving to be the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. The deal is rumored to be for 5 years $24 million dollars. This comes on the heels of Petrino signing a 10 year $25 million dollar contract with the Louisville Cardinals.
This is what Petrino had to say back in August:
“I can’t tell you how happy I am with the commitment and the confidence that Tom Jurich has in me and the university has in me. I also wanted to make sure that everyone understood, I know I’ve said it, that this is where my family wants to be. This is where I want to be. I want everyone to really believe it.”
Now it is January 7th and he has pulled a Nick Saban. He lied to the media and his players and the University. If you’re gonna be in it for the long haul, that doesn’t mean you run to the NFL for more money or in the case of Nick Saban, run back to the college ranks.
Petrino had led the Louisville Cardinals to 12-1 season that ended with a victory in the Orange Bowl over Wake Forest. His overall record at Louisville was 41-9 and took Louisville to the top of the Big East every year and also nationally. Good riddance to another man who can’t keep his word.

Just Some Ramblings

Well the Randy Johnson deal is all but official. The Yankees will announce the deal on Tuesday. There hasn’t been any news on the JD Drew front. Word was they were going to try and work the deal out this past week but nothing ever came of it. Hopefully, they get this deal done soon. Candace Parker could end up being a better college player and maybe even better player than Diana Taurasi ever was. CP is much more athletic than Diana. UCONN women need to step up their game and play 40 mins. They also need to do a better job of getting Mel Thomas open. The UCONN men need to learn to shoot free throws. If I am Jim Calhoun, each players needs to make 100 in a row or they stay til they do. Patriots looked good today in the Belimangina Bowl. Give Joel Pinero a chance to close. Odds are he won’t be the closer after July anyways unless he’s going lights out.
