Fifth Annual Minor League Doubleheader will feature Single-A Salem Red Sox and Single-A Lowell Spinners who will play regular season games at Fenway Park with family-friendly ticket prices
BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox announced details today for the fifth annual Futures at Fenway presented by Comcast minor league doubleheader that is scheduled for Saturday, July 10 at Fenway Park. Similar to the four previous events, family-friendly ticket and concession prices along with kid-friendly activities will highlight this day of minor league fun at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. The games in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 were played in front of capacity crowds eager to see the Red Sox stars of tomorrow.
After a one year absence, Boston’s Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners will return to take part in the 2010 Futures at Fenway. They will be joined by the Salem Red Sox, the Red Sox’ Single-A affiliate in the Carolina League, for their Futures at Fenway debut. Lowell will face off against the Jamestown Jammers (Single-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins Organization) in the first game at 12:05 p.m. while Salem will battle the Potomac Nationals (Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals Organization) in the second game of the doubleheader.
Kids attending the event will be selected randomly throughout the day to participate in a number of exciting activities, such as participating in mascot races and taking part in other on-field activities. Additionally, youngsters will be able to get autographs from the players during autograph sessions scheduled on the Big Concourse.
Tickets will be available for fans to sit in ballpark locations many have never before had the chance to enjoy, such as the Green Monster Seats, on the Right Field Roof Deck, in the Dugout Seats, and EMC Club and State Street Pavilion. Prices will start as low as $5.00 (for Bleacher seats) and range up to just $30.00 (for Green Monster Seats, Dugout Seats, the EMC Club and the State Street Pavilion Club). In addition, discounted concession items will be available for fans attending Futures at Fenway.
Red Sox season ticket holders, members of Red Sox Nation and members of Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood have a first opportunity to purchase tickets. Those fans have already been contacted with details.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13 via the internet at www.redsox.com or by calling (877) REDSOX-9. Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino approached the Red Sox four years ago with the idea to host minor league games at Fenway Park.

Although records are incomplete, the games in 2006 are believed to be the first minor league games played at Fenway Park since the 1977 Eastern League All-Star Game. The last known regular season minor league game played at Fenway had been a 1966 Eastern League contest between Pittsfield (Red Sox) and Pawtucket (Indians).
