From UConn:
STORRS, Conn. — In 2011, when the Battle 4 Atlantis college basketball tournament on Paradise Island in the Bahamas was born, the University of Connecticut was part of the first field of teams.
The Huskies, who emerged from that tournament with a third-place finish, will return to the Bahamas next November, for the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis, joining an extremely strong field. Syracuse, Michigan, Texas, Gonzaga, Charlotte, Texas A&M, and Washington, plus UConn, will make up the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis bracket. The tourney will take place on Nov. 25-27, the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of Thanksgiving week.
UConn has played a combined total of 114 games against the rest of the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis field, including 91 against former longtime Big East Conference rival Syracuse. The Huskies and the Orange have not met since the Big East Conference broke apart at the end of the 2012-13 season. UConn has a record of 54-60 in games against the Battle 4 Atlantis field.
UConn has participated in a November tournament for 10 consecutive seasons and has a combined record of 27-5 in those tournaments, including five championships and four runner-up finishes. Last week, the Huskies finished second in the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Earlier this week, it was announced that UConn would also participate in the 2016 Maui Invitational in November, 2016.
