Two of Robinson’s points came on this nasty windmill dunk:
After spending a year in Spain, former UConn Huskies forward Jeff Adrien is trying to latch on with an NBA team. He’s spending his summer playing for the Orlando Magic summer league team along with his former UConn teammate Stanley Robinson.
Adrien, who looks very chiseled now, finished his first game this afternoon with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in the Magic’s loss to the Indiana Pacers. Two of those 13 points came on a fast break dunk in the video below.

Hat tip to UConn Huskies Basketball
The 2010 NBA All-Star Game is in Dallas on Sunday but that’s not exactly where former UConn Husky and current Washington Wizards small forward Caron Butler is heading.
He’ll be going to Dallas as he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a seven player deal on Saturday night.

Here’s a press release from the UConn Sports Information department about former UConn Huskies running back Donald Brown who will be playing in the Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts.
STORRS, Conn. – Former University of Connecticut running back Donald Brown will become the third Husky to play in a Super Bowl when his Indianapolis Colts take on the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, Feb. 7 in Miami.
Brown, a rookie with the Colts, gained 18 yards on six carries in the Colts’ NFC Championship Game victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. Brown had 78 carries for 281 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season.
Brown was selected by the Colts in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, becoming the first UConn player to be picked in the first round. He was the leading rusher in the NCAA FBS in 2009 and was the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year.
UConn will also be represented in this year’s Super Bowl by two players on practice squads. Keith Gray, who started 31 games for UConn at center through 2008, is on the Colts’ practice squad while former quarterback Tyler Lorenzen (2007-08) is a tight end on the Saints’ practice squad.
Nick Giaquinto, who played at UConn from 1975-76, was the first Husky to play in the Super Bowl. He played in Super Bowl XVII in 1982 for the victorious Washington Redskins and in Super Bowl XVIII in 1983 that Washington lost.
In addition, Brian Kozlowski, who played at UConn from 1989-92, played in Super Bowl XXXIII (1999) for the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons, who lost to the Denver Broncos.
Former UConn Huskies men’s basketball player Hilton Armstrong has been traded to the Sacramento Kings by the New Orleans Hornets. In exchange for Armstrong, the Hornets will receive a 2016 second round pick and cash considerations.
Armstrong, who won the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2006 while at UConn, is averaging 2.8 points and 18 games this season. In 209 career games during his three plus seasons in the NBA, he is averaging 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Armstrong was traded away by the Hornets due to the fact that they were over the luxury-tax threshold. By jettisoning Armstrong to Sacramento, the Hornets unload his $2,801,198 salary and are now just about $500,000 from being under the limit.
He will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Former UConn Huskies wide receiver/kick returner Larry Taylor has signed a reserve/futures contract with the New York Jets.
For those who don’t know what a reserves/futures contract is, it’s defined as the following:
Players who are not on an NFL team’s active roster when the 2009 season ends are eligible
Taylor has spent the past two seasons playing the CFL with the Montreal Allouettes. He had 89 punt returns for 788 yards with two touchdowns in 2009. He also had 51 kick returns for 1,059 yards. Taylor was named as the CFL’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player and was also a conference and CFL All-Star. While at UConn, he was probably best known for his infamous unfair catch.

Former UConn Huskies and current Memphis Grizzlies center Hasheem Thabeet is out indefinitely after fracturing his jaw on Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
While battling underneath the basket, Thabeet collided with Zach Randolph’s head which fractured his jaw.
Thabeet’s had a slow start for the Grizzlies. In seven games, he’s scored four points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
