Here’s a look at the Patriots Rock Radio Network broadcasting team for 2007. Patriots fans are treated to some of the most complete, in-depth analysis available for any NFL team. In addition to game coverage the WBCN Patriots Rock Radio Network provides complete pre and post game analysis giving Pats fans more than 9 hours of game day coverage.

When you listen to the Pats on the radio this is what you will hear.

Gil Santos is back for his 32^nd season as the play-by-play voice of the New England Patriots. Santos originally called Pats games from 1966-79 on WBZ Radio. In 1990 he resumed his play-by-play duties with WBZ and has remained ever since even thought since 1995 the games are broadcast on WBZ’s Infinity Radio sister station, WBCN FM and the Patriots Rock Radio network.

Santos, who is also the WBZ morning sports anchor, has also called Boston College football, Providence College basketball, Penn State football, NFL Football for CBS TV and ABC Radio and Big East basketball.

He is joined in the booth by his partner since 1990 Patriots Hall of Fame member Gino Cappelletti. Cappelletti, 2^nd in team history in points scored, was a former Patriots kicker and wide receiver and was the 1964 AFL MVP. Nicknamed “The Duke”, he is the AFL’s all-time leading scorer and one of only twenty players who were in the American Football League for its entire ten-year existence.

Patriots’ wide receiver Donte` Stallworth started practicing Sunday after his return from the PUP list. He is yet to practice in pads but he did some one on one drills with QB Tom Brady.

Still awaiting the arrival of Baby Brady. Brady’s former girlfriend Bridget Moynihan still hasn’t gone into labor.

Right tackle Wesley Britt is making a huge impression in camp. Many observers’ felt that the battle was between incumbent starter Nick Kaczur and Ryan O’Callaghan but Britt has jumped into the fray as well.

Running back Sammy Morris is having trouble holding onto the ball. He dropped a pass and then muffed a squibb kick moments later. Morris is a guy the Pats intend on using as a third down back so he better find his hands and quick.

Randy Moss and Kyle Brady missed practice and Asante Samuel is still holding out refusing to sign the franchise tender.

Welcome to our new feature here at Sox and Dawgs. After taking to Ian, well swapping emails with him, we felt that a lot of Sox fans are also Patriots fans. We have no idea what the percentage is but hey who cares. If you’re a fan of another NFL team I’m sure there is some sort of cool blog for you too. Somewhere.

What I (I imagine for the most part it will be me) will try to do is just bring you the tidbits from Patriots each week. During training camp we will probably do it once a week, maybe twice depending on ability to generate content. During the season I envision some notes a few days before the game on the upcoming victim and then some sort of game recap with the Patriots Stud/Gelding of the Game.

Tom Brady celebrated his 30^th birthday on Friday. Happy belated birthday to the “King of New England”.

Randy Moss returned to the practice field Friday but didn’t participate in any contact drills because of an apparent hamstring injury he suffered on Wednesday. He sat out the Thursday’s sessions and was a spectator for the most part yesterday.

One of the stories of camp is a newer slimmed down Vince Wilfork. With the love and a push from his wife, Bianca, Vince has dropped 6 inches from his waist and 7% of his body fat. Wilfork only needed to be reminded he lost his parents to diabetes and high blood pressure. While he still weighs in at 325 pounds Vince looks noticeably leaner and healthier.

Bianca Wilfork has gotten her husband to stop eating two gigantic meals a day and got him to eat six smaller ones. So now his diet consists of fruit, nuts, vegetables, beans, baked chicken and fish.

As always, when it comes to contracts, the Patriots are mum. This time it’s on coach Bill Belichick’s deal.

He and owner Robert Kraft have an agreement that they don’t speak publicly on the coach’s contract but Kraft did have this to say. “I’m happy with what he’s doing and he’s happy with what he’s doing. I think we have a great nucleus of players here and we’re excited about the upcoming season. And we hope we make the playoffs. That’s our objective.”

Reportedly this is the last season of Belichick’s current contract and the coach has hinted he plans on staying beyond this season.

The NFL is limiting news organizations websites to no more than 45 seconds of online video or audio of team personnel from it’s stadiums per day. The NFL is wants to prevent newspapers, TV and Radio stations from diminishing the value of it’s multimedia properties, namely NFL.com and the websites of the 32 NFL teams.

In addition, news sites are barred from running advertisements next to any online NFL content. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said ” The Internet is a new medium with potential revenue sources, we want to carefully manage our audio and video property.”

“News sites are looking at the [NFL] video as a business opportunity,” Aiello added. “I don’t believe it’s about news coverage.” According to the league, the musings of its players, coaches, and owners are the league’s intellectual property.

I think that’s the first time in a while that “NFL” and “intellectual” have been used in the same sentence.

The Associated Press is reporting that Patriots defensive back Chad Scott will miss the entire season due to a knee injury he suffered on the first day of practice. Scott has placed on the injured reserve list.

Meanwhile holdout cornerback Asante Samuel was no where to found. Samuel was upset when given the franchise tag by the Patriots for 2007. Since the league deadline for multi-year deals has passed the only deal Asante can sign is the 1 year $7.75 million deal based on the franchise tag. He said he would not end his holdout until Week Ten of the season. A NFL player needs to be on the roster for six games to accrue a year of service.

First round draft pick Brandon Meriweather is in camp after signing his 5-year deal that included a $6 million signing bonus. Reports are is that he is learning fast under the tutelage of Rodney Harrison.

US Weekly is reporting that Bridget Moynihan is about to drop Baby Brady anytime now. They are reporting that Tom would like to be there and his girlfriend super model Gisele Bundchen isn’t thrilled about that. According to a friend of Tom’s she doesn’t like that Bridget is calling so much. Ahhh the baby mamma drama begins.

RB Lawrence Maroney is participating more in training camp than he did in mini camp. Supposedly his surgically repaired right shoulder is doing much better. Even though he is limited in practice right now to a red non-contact jersey there are no red flags for Maroney, who as a rookie carried the ball 175 times for 745 yards in 14 games.

Marquise Hill, a defensive end for the New England Patriots, has passed away at the age of 24. He had been jet skiing with a female acquaintance on Lake Pontchartrain Sunday night when they lost control of the watercraft. They were not wearing life vests.

He was declared missing when a search for him started on Sunday night. His friend was rescued when he had helped her to a pylon in the water. He was last seen after he got her there floating down the lake in the strong current.

His body was found today around 2:30 and was identified by a Louisiana state official as Hill.

Hill is from New Orleans and has been very active helping family members rebuild their homes that were lost in Hurricane Katrina.

Hill went to LSU in Baton Rouge and was a member of their 2003 National Championship team. He was drafted by the Patriots in the 2004 draft in the second round.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends as well as the members of the Patriots organization.

Is Tom Brady a trader or was he wearing the Yankees hat for his protection in New York?

If published reports are true, “Golden Boy” Tom Brady may have knocked up Gisele Bundchen as well. According to a Brazilian website, Bundchen has reportedly told family and friends that she is about 2 months pregnant.

If this is true, at least his kids will always have play dates. This is going to make one big awkward mess for Brady if Bundchen is pregnant. He is already having one child with Bridget Moynahan and now may have another one on the way.

I got this joke from a friend and thought it was pretty funny even though I am a Patriots fan.

Tom Brady, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Patriot’s flag in the window. “This house is yours for eternity, Tom,” said God. “This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here.” Tom felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house.

On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a Blue & White sidewalk, a 50- foot tall flagpole with an enormous Colts logo flag, and in every window, a Colts towel.

Tom looked at God and said “God, I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I hold many NFL records, and I even won a few Super bowls.

God said “So what’s your point Tom?”

“Well, why does Peyton get a better house than me?”

God chuckled, and said: “Tom, that’s not Peyton’s house, it’s mine.”
