We already knew that the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team would be playing on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion in the 1st round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament. What we didn’t know was who they’d be playing and what region they were going to. And now we do.
As expected, the Huskies are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Women’s Tournament and will be taking on No. 16 seed Vermont on Sunday afternoon at 12 PM at Gampel Pavilion. The winner gets the winner of the No. 8 Florida/No. 9 Temple game on March 24th at 7 PM. They have been placed in the Trenton regional bracket.
The other No. 1 seeds were the Duke Blue Devils, Maryland Terrapins and the Oklahoma Sooners.
