Ok I was a little slack in posting a review of last week’s UCONN football game versus Wake Forest. Well I will sum it up right now. UCONN sucked. Theres no way they should have lost that game but some questionable play calling by Randy Edsall and some sucky quarterbacking by DJ Hernandez led to the UCONN loss.
So now on today’s game. Scoring updates after the jump.
Second qtr: Danny Lansanah returns an interception 60 yards for a touch down 7-0 UCONN
Third qtr: 4th and inches Lou Allen breaks a 35 yd run for a touchdown 14-0 UCONN
Third qtr: 87 yd kickoff return by Indiana’s Thigpen 14-7 UCONN
OK today’s game was not pretty but UCONN prevailed 14-7 behind some strong running and a great game by the defense. UCONN’s defense came into the game as the 7th ranked defense in the land and they showed again how good they are by allowing zero yards rushing on 27 carries by Indiana. It was a turnover plagued game for both teams as 7 turnovers were committed between the two teams (3 by the Huskies and 4 by the Hoosiers)
One thing the Huskies need to do is work on their offensive line. DJ is getting the time to pass and seems to be mirroring David Carr of the Houston Texans by spending a lot of time on his back.
Next up for the Dogs is the Midshipmen of Navy next Saturday at the Rent. The crew will be out in full force next weekend.
