With all of the rain here in New England, tonight’s game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at Historic Fenway Park is rained out.
Daniel Bard will be skipped in the rotation until his next turn and is available to pitch out of the bullpen.
Here’s the release from the Red Sox about the cancellation of tonight’s game:
Boston, MA – Tonight’s Red Sox-Yankees game has been postponed due to inclement weather.
According to the Red Sox professional weather service, Telvent DTN, the current forecast calls for the rain showers that are currently in the area to increase in intensity throughout the afternoon and evening hours, and remain steady into Monday afternoon. This forecast, which also includes high winds and cold temperatures, is consistent with those provided by the other local weather services. A flood watch is in effect for Boston and Suffolk County through noon on Monday, April 23.
The decision to postpone tonight’s game was made as early as possible in hopes of limiting the inconvenience to fans holding tickets to this evening’s 8:05 p.m. contest.
Tonight’s game will be rescheduled for a date to be determined as soon as possible. Tickets for tonight’s game will be good for admission to that rescheduled contest.
