After falling last night, the Boston Red Sox look to finish up their six-game home stand with a series win tonight in the finale of a three-game set with the New York Yankees.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Yankees television market, you can catch the game on YES. And if you don’t live in either market you’re in luck as the MLB Network will have coverage of the game (outside of Red Sox and Yankees television markets). If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to it on the Red Sox radio network.
Felix Doubront looks to bounce back from a poor few starts as of late in his 26th start of 2012. In his previous 25 starts, Doubront is 10-8 with a 5.21 ERA. He’s made three starts against the Yankees this season and is 1-0 with a 2.41 ERA (5 ER/18.2 IP). Doubront has made seven career appearances (three starts) against the Evil Empire and is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA. Four of those appearances (two starts) have come at the Fens where he is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA (6 ER/15 IP).
Phil Hughes looks to keep the Yanks atop the AL East in his 29th start of 2012. In his previous 28 starts, Hughes is 14-12 with a 4.13 ERA. He’s made three starts against the Red Sox this season and is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA (6 ER/19.1 IP). Hughes has made 19 career appearances (11 starts) against the local nine and is 4-6 with a 5.51 ERA. Nine of those appearances (five starts) have come at the Fens where he is 2-4 with an 8.26 ERA.
