After losing for the seventh straight game, the Boston Red Sox look to end the slide tonight in the middle game of a three-game set with the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Mariners television market, you can catch the game on ROOT Sports. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to it on the Red Sox radio network.
Jon Lester, who has pitched well as of late, steps to the bump for his 28th start of 2012. In his previous 27 starts, Lester is 8-11 with a 5.01 ERA. He picked up the win in his only start of 2012 against the Mariners are throwing a complete game where he allowed one run back on May 14th. Lester has made eight career starts against the M’s and is 3-2 with a 3.48 ERA. Six of those starts have come at Safeco Field where he is 2-2 with a 4.42 ERA.
Blake Beavan makes his 22nd start of 2012 for the Mariners. In his previous 21 starts, Beavan is 9-8 with a 4.95 ERA. He took the loss in his only start of 2012 against the Red Sox after allowing three runs in four innings of work. He hasn’t had any success against the Red Sox as he is 0-3 with a 6.35 ERA in three career starts.
