The Boston Red Sox made some more cuts today as they announced that they have sent down Michael Bowden, Junichi Tazawa, Billy Traber and Marcus McBeth.

Bowden was optioned to Pawtucket, Tazawa to Portland and reassigned Traber and McBeth to the minor league complex. They will both most likely end up on the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Tazawa was a surprise in spring training as he put up some good numbers for the Red Sox in his 5 Grapefruit League outings. In 9 innings, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 10. His spring ERA stood at 1.00. He will spend some time in Portland as he continues to adjust to baseball in America.

Bowden saw action in 5 games (2 starts) and gave up 9 runs in 10 2/3 innings on 14 hits and 5 walks. He did have 9 strikeouts.
