After pounding out 14 hits in a win last night, the Boston Red Sox will be looking for more of the same this afternoon in the second game of a three-game set at Rogers Centre against the Toronto Blue Jays.
This afternoon’s game will start at 1:07 p.m. and will be shown on NESN in the Red Sox television market. The game can be seen in the Blue Jays television market on Rogers Sports Net.. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2010 Red Sox radio network.
John Lackey looks for his 10th win before the All-Star break for Terry Francona and the Red Sox. In his 17 starts, Lackey is 9-4 with a 4.40 ERA. He’s made one start against the Jays this season, picking up the win despite allowing six runs in six innings back on May 10th. He’s made 12 career starts against the Jays and is 4-3 with a 3.74 ERA. In eight career starts at Rogers Centre, Lackey is 3-2 with a 3.04 ERA.
Brandon Morrow has pitched well as of late for Cito Gaston and the Blue Jays. He’s made 17 starts and is 5-6 with a 4.69 ERA. He took the loss in the May 10th game against Lackey after allowing six runs in 1 2/3 innings. He’s made ten appearances (two starts) and is 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA.
