After winning last night, the Boston Red Sox look to take the rubber game of a three-game set with the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field this afternoon.
Today’s first pitch is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast in the Red Sox television market on NESN. If you live in the White Sox television market, you can watch the game on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. If you don’t live in either market you’re in luck as well as TBS will have national coverage of the game outside of the Red Sox and White Sox television markets. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.
Andrew Miller looks to solidify his spot in the rotation while putting his control issues behind him in his eight start of the season. In his previous seven starts, Miller is 4-1 with a 5.45 ERA. He has not faced the White Sox since 2007 when he was a member of the Detroit Tigers. He’s made three career appearances (two starts) against the White Sox and is 0-1 with a 9.58 ERA (11 ER/10.1 IP). He’s made two appearances (one start) on the South Side where he has no record with a 7.11 ERA (5 ER/5.1 IP).
Mark Buehrle makes his 21st start and 11th at home for the ChiSox this afternoon. In his previous 20 starts, Buehrle is 8-5 with a 3.22 ERA. He has not faced the Red Sox in 2011 but was 0-1 with a 5.54 ERA (8 ER/13 IP) in 2010. He’s made 16 appearances (15 starts) against the Red Sox in his career and he is 6-6 with a 4.57 ERA. He’s made ten appearances (nine starts) against the Red Sox at U.S. Cellular Field where he is 3-4 with a 4.33 ERA.
