After splitting a four-game set with the Kansas City Royals, the Boston Red Sox continue their 11-game swing against AL Central teams. Tonight the Red Sox are in the Windy City to begin a three-game set with the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.
Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast in the Red Sox television market on NESN. If you live in the White Sox television market, you can watch the game on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. If you don’t live in either market, you may be in luck as the game is also scheduled to be on the MLB Network. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.
Tim Wakefield goes in search of career win No. 200 tonight in his 14th start (23 appearances) of 2011. In his previous 22 appearances (13 starts), Wake is 6-3 with a 5.15 ERA. Gavin Floyd makes his 21st appearance (20th start) of 2011 for the always outspoken Ozzie Guillen. In his previous 20 appearances (19 starts), Floyd is 8-9 with a 4.11 ERA. He was matched up with Wakefield back on June 1st and picked up the win after allowing four runs in 6.2 innings of work. He’s made seven appearances (six starts) against the Red Sox in his career and is 5-0 with a 3.83 ERA. Three of those starts have come at U.S. Cellular Field where he is 2-0 with a 5.29 ERA.
