Mat Latos (L), Alfredo Aceves (R)

After pounding the San Diego Padres last night, the Boston Red Sox look to do it again tonight in the middle game of a three-game set at Fenway Park.

Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and you can watch the game on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Padres television market, you can catch the game on Channel 4 SD. According to the MLB Network schedule, the game is also scheduled to be shown on there. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.

Alfredo Aceves steps in for Josh Beckett tonight after Beckett was scratched last night with the ol’ “intestinal turmoil” thing. Aceves will be making his fourth start and 19th appearance in 2011 for the Red Sox. In his previous 18 appearances (three starts), Aceves is 3-1 with a 3.30 ERA. He is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA (8 ER/16 IP) in those three starts. Aceves has never faced the Padres in his career. Aceves has made six appearances (one start) in interleague play during his career and is 1-0 with a 1.30 ERA (2 ER/13.2 IP). That lone start came earlier this year against the Chicago Cubs when he received a no decision after allowing one run in five innings of work.

Mat Latos looks to stop the bleeding after last night in his 14th start of 2011 for Bud Black. In his previous 13 starts, Latos is 4-8 with a 4.06 ERA. He’s never faced the Red Sox in his career.  Latos has made four interleague starts during his career and is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA (7 ER/25.2 IP). The only loss he has suffered during interleague play came this year when he allowed four runs in six innings of work against the Seattle Mariners on May 20th.
