John Lackey (L), Justin Masterson (R)

After sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend to extend their winning streak to seven games, the Boston Red Sox embark on a nine-game, 10 day road trip. Tonight, they’ll kick it off with the first game of a three-game set with the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Indians television market, you can catch the game on WKYC 3 and SportsTime Ohio. And if you can’t catch the game on television, you can always listen on the 2014 Red Sox Radio Network.

John Lackey toes the slab for the 12th time in 2014. In his previous 11 starts, Lackey is 6-3 with a 3.27 ERA. In his lone start against the Indians in 2013, he picked up the win after allowing an unearned run in seven innings of work. He’s made 17 career starts against the Tribe and is 7-7 with a 3.98 ERA. Six of those starts have come at Progressive Field where he is 3-3 with a 2.79 ERA.

Old friend Justin Masterson makes his 13th start of 2014 for another old friend Terry Francona. In his previous 12 starts, Masterson is 2-4 with a 5.21 ERA. In two starts against the Red Sox in 2013, he was 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA (9 ER/11 IP). He’s made seven career starts against his former club and is 3-3 with a 4.23 ERA.
