After going 5-2 on a seven-game road trip, the Boston Red Sox return home for a six-game, seven-day homestand that begins tonight as they’ll entertain the Chicago White Sox in a three-game set at Fenway Park.
Tonight’s game will start at 7:10 p.m. and will be televised on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the White Sox television market, you can watch the game on CSN Chicago. And if you don’t live in either market, you’re in luck as the game will be televised on the MLB Network (not in Red Sox or White Sox television markets). And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.
Jon Lester goes in search of a MLB-leading eighth win in his 12th start of 2011. In his previous 11 starts, Lester is 7-1 with a 3.36 ERA. He made one start against the White Sox in 2010 taking the loss after allowing eight earned runs in four innings of work. Lester has made five career starts against the south side squad from Chicago and is 2-2 with a 4.99 ERA. One of those starts has come at the Fens where he has no record with a 4.05 ERA (3 ER/6.2 IP).
Jake Peavy makes his fourth start of 2011 since returning from the disabled list. In his previous three starts, Peavy is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA. Peavy has made just one career start against the Red Sox and that came as a member of the San Diego Padres. In that outing back in 2007, he took the loss after allowing three runs on nine hits in five innings of work. This will be his first career start at Fenway Park.
